Next steps

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW FAMILY MEMBER!

  1. First things first! Please click the following link & fill out our Adoption Contract.

  2. Next, please submit their adoption fee via PayPal (linked on this page!). You have the option of paying 1/2 to place your pup on hold or the full adoption fee.

  3. We’ll schedule a quick video call to tour the inside of your home if we haven’t already.

  4. Check out the information below regarding required supplies.

  5. Once you’ve submitted the contract & payment keep an eye out for an email from us that will contain a Google Drive link with your pup’s adoption packet, vet records, microchip transfer info, and a link to their photo gallery. We’ll also coordinate a time for you to pick up your new pup once you’ve acquired their supplies!

Supplies

The following items are required to be owned by the adoptive families prior to pick up. If you have issues finding supplies please let us know. Items from the dog’s foster care pack supplies are available for purchase or to have on loan, if needed.

  • Dog seatbelt: Must be brought with you when picking up your dog on “go home” day - always attached to their harness and never their collar.

  • Folding wire crate: Please check with us regarding sizing.

Wildhearts will provide:

  • Leftover food & treats to get you started.

  • Personal items: bed, blanket, toys & chews, hairbrush.

  • Any leftover pee pads: we recommend that you have a few laid out in your home prior to letting the dog explore, just in case!

  • Each dog is fitted with an AirTag tracking device as an extra safety net during the transition/acclimation period.

  • Fitted martingale collar, harness, leash, Wildhearts ID tag, and a safety back-up clip.

    • Why? Because our dogs are flight risks and the last thing we want is for them to get loose (especially without updated identification). If you purchased a martingale collar + updated ID tag for the dog, please bring them to the pick up so we can fit your dog prior to leaving.

    • PLEASE continue to utilize the safety backup clip for at least 3 months after your pup’s adoption. It can save your pup’s life!

Congratulations to your family!
