Archie ::ADOPTED::

In February of this year, Archie and his brother were found alone and trapped in a sewer. They were quickly brought to the city pound in Asan, South Korea where they waited for someone to offer them a home. Archie’s brother quickly found a foster family but Archie was left behind to grow up alone in a small cage.

When we first offered to give him a chance at Wildhearts we had no idea he would turn out to be such a stunning fella! Just 10 days before his flight, a wonderful family stepped up to foster Archie. This was the first time he had ever experienced the warmth of a home and we are so grateful.

A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE Archie THINGS FROM his FOSTER family…

Archie is literally the cutest, softest dog we’ve ever seen. His ears are always mismatched – one stands up and one folds down. His fur is so soft and he has a mohawk along with a handlebar mustache!

He loves snuggling when he gets out of the crate and will plop into your lap to give you a good morning love snuggle. On occasion, Archie gets in a really cuddly mood and will snuggle at your feet on the couch while you watch tv.

Archie is so playful and is great at self play throughout the day. He loves to play fetch and is a pro at zoomies. After he gets his energy out, he will just chill in the yard or play alone with his toys while you work on the garden. There’s an innocence to his playfulness that will make your heart melt!

When we first got Archie his crate was his safe spot and he struggled leaving it. Now he loves spending time with his foster family and it’s hard to convince him to go back into the crate. However, once you guide him into the crate, he doesn’t whine and will nap for hours there and through the night with no problem. We’ve found that his crate is the best place to help him wind down after he gets too amped up and mouthy.

Archie loves people! We’ve taken him out to the plant nursery and he wanted to meet everyone he passed by. He take a few minutes to warm up to male presenting people but is making a lot of progress.

Archie loves dogs! Even though he is still figuring out how to play all he wants to do is meet and play with other dogs.

Archie is great in the car and relaxes into the backseat with his seatbelt on. He could be your road trip dog and is a great adventure buddy!

A FEW THINGS Archie IS WORKING ON FROM his FOSTER family…

While Archie is a playful pooch, he is a teething puppy! He is mouthy when playful and needs training to redirect this. When out in the yard we found that handing him a thick stick is the most enticing thing for him to not nip at hands or legs. If he gets too amped up the crate is a great tool to help him wind down. His mouthy behavior is very much due to his puppy age and his time in isolation at the city pound with no access to other dogs. He never learned how to use his mouth properly through play.

Also, due to his time being isolated at the pound Archie is just now learning to accept physical love. He is starting to learn that his humans want to pet him, hug him, help him scratch, and pet his belly. He’s learning to love it, but will look at you with this funny and confused look. He sometimes will nibble on your hands because he doesn’t understand why you’re petting him, but he’s starting to learn to love to accept affection. Archie has the kissing thing down though – he loves smooches and he’ll smooch you right back.

Archie chews and tugs on his leash and is working on his walking manners. Lately he likes to stop in the middle of a stranger’s yard and lie down, procrastinating the rest of the walk or he likes to pull on his leash to hurry ahead.

Archie wants to eat everything in sight and is very motivated by food. He’s a growing boy! Expect that you likely will need to crate him during your meals or he’ll crawl onto your lap to try to join you.
