Ari ::ADOPTED::

During a rainstorm in the summer of 2018, Ari was found alone on the street as a young puppy. She had spent nearly her entire life at Yongin Pound in South Korea prior to her flight here. Even though Ari’s a complete love-bug she never received an adoption inquiry there due to the stigma around Jindos and her “large” size.

Ari had quite the reputation at the pound for her belly showing ways. She’ll offer it to dogs, humans (anyone really!) to show that she’s not a threat and in hopes that she might get a few belly rubs.

A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE Ari THINGS FROM Her FOSTER Mom…

Ari is as gentle as they come and has so much love to share. She loves snuggling up with her blankie in her crate, on her bed (place), and at least two dozen times a day Ari rolls over for belly rubs which just might be her favorite thing in the world.

Ari has been quick to learn several new commands including “place” and is getting better each day with “here.” She follows her foster sister’s lead with “sit” and even does so now before receiving treats and meals!

It seems Ari is eager to learn and eager to please her humans. And after just a few weeks she has also started playing with her foster sister.

Ari had some major breakthroughs with cars: she now doesn’t think twice about hopping into the car for an adventure (or errands) and settles into a comfy snuggle spot while in the car.

A FEW THINGS Ari IS WORKING ON FROM her FOSTER mom…

While Ari is so trusting of people, she has some nervousness and anxiety when first meeting new people, especially male presenting folx. However this seems to be improving with consistent exposure to new people (and possibly seeing her confident foster dog sister interact with all types of people). Patience is everything for Ari when meeting new people. And so are treats and bellyrubs.

Ari is working on walks with no pulling. The harness was encouraging Ari to pull like her life depended on it. Now she is walking with a slip-lead and that is helping immensely - even when squirrels, birds, and other small wild life tempt her prey drive!
Sudden loud noises startle Ari very easily. This includes: scuffing your feet on pavement when walking her, someone speaking very loudly, a loud car driving by. Oddly enough, she is OK with the sound of a vacuum.
