Dobby ::ADOPTED::

This fella has a long story! Back in 2017 Dobby arrived at the Yongin pound in South Korea after he was hit by a car. The next few years were filled with surgery after surgery and ultimately in 2019 one of his hind legs had to be amputated. They inserted non-moving joint pins into his remaining leg to keep him from damaging it further. This is why Dobby’s back leg no longer bends.

He stayed at the vet hospital for three months to recover and then a generous sponsor offered to contribute towards an extended stay at a dog hotel to keep him out of the pound. For a year Dobby lived at the dog hotel and was more-or-less forgotten about because he had his sponsorship and was safe. There wasn’t a single inquiry to adopt him since he arrived in 2017.

After Dobby’s long journey we are so thrilled to offer him a fresh start! Dobby is completely mobile and can go up & down steps, walk/run, jump on the couch, and play without support. He tires quickly and that’s why we got him a rear wheel cart so he can enjoy longer walks and more outdoor activities. His cart will go home with his forever family.

A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE Dobby THINGS FROM his FOSTER family…

Dobby is a very well-behaved boy, winning the heart of anyone he meets with his floppy ears and his aptitude for snuggles. He is a very mellow dog who enjoys brief walks and runs in the yard. Although Dobby is friendly with other dogs, he seems more interested in humans. He will gently greet dogs with a sniff and then do his own thing. He is very good about not having potty accidents or chewing furniture/personal items. He enjoys lots of pets behind his ears and on his neck.

A FEW THINGS Dobby IS WORKING ON FROM his FOSTER family…

He is very sensitive about his back leg being touched, particularly when you dry off his paws after backyard romps. Dobby sometimes needs more time to warm up to male presenting folx. With that said, in just a short period of  time he has made strides in terms of creating relationships and trusting them. Dobby has some separation anxiety and can whine when you leave him home alone, but at night he is great in his crate and sleeps easily. Dobby can sometimes be protective over his toys, but in a positive environment he is more inclined to share them.
