Hugh ::ADOPTED::
Hugh is one of the 60+ dogs that were found locked away this winter in a hoarding situation outside of Asan, South Korea. Over the past several years the dogs were left to breed and their numbers grew into the hundreds. At least half of the dogs perished due to the horrific conditions they were forced to live in. Many died from illness, neglect, dog fights, and also from human consumption. The hoarders were reported to the city and slowly dogs are being pulled out and placed into the city shelter.
Hugh and 23 other dogs were brought to the city shelter in January and a few months ago he was placed in a loving foster home in South Korea while he was treated for heartworm. So far his fosters here in Portland describe him as a pure delight. We can’t wait to see who scoops Hugh up to join their family. This boy is a gem!
from his foster family…
Hugh is a calm, sweet guy. He likes to kick back and rest the day a way. He likes to be near his people and is a faithful companion. He is diligently working on his leash manners but has quickly picked up sitting for delicious treats. He likes other dogs but likes his humans more. He is most playful in the morning or when he sees a leash. He's a quiet, shy fella who never seems to bark. He is shy around new people but warms up. Hugh will quickly melt your heart! He loves all attention from his people and is patient with all of their love and handling.
THE IDEAL FAMILY FOR Hugh WOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

- A secure, fenced yard so he can sunbathe and enjoy the fresh air.
- A dog-free home so he can be his family’s main focus.
