Jovi ::ADOPTED::

Jovi, with his mom & four siblings, was reported living on the street to the Asan City Shelter in January. Only two of the puppies with their mom were caught and two puppies (Jovi & Kade) disappeared. The rescued mom and puppies were adopted quickly and then Jovi & Kade were reported running loose again in March. After they were finally caught Kade was adopted quickly and Jovi had been waiting in the shelter for a family of his own ever since. He is now getting loved on at a foster home in Portland, Oregon!

A few of our favorite Jovi things…

Jovi is such a fun and upbeat fella and is thriving in a home environment!

He’s been picking up basic training very quickly and is eager to learn. Jovi is great with other dogs and is very playful! He takes cues from other dogs well and is confident enough to share when he’s not enjoying another dog’s play-style. He loves his plush, squeaky lamb, playing fetch, and going on walks. Jovi would be a great adventure pup as he gets older. He has plenty of energy but also seems to enjoy chilling at home. Jovi is also a great traveler in the car!

He loves his post-walk zoomies and always gets an extra zoomie sesh in before bedtime. We are obsessed with the big “J” on his chest and his white socks!

A few things JOvi is working on…

Like any puppy, Jovi still has a ways to go with his training & behavior! If he has a dull moment or is antsy, he will find something to get into.

He is very friendly with new people but needs to work on his soft nibbling and jumping. Jovi is working on listening to commands consistently.  Since he's so smart, it seems he chooses when he wants to listen!

He has an odd habit of holding his pee (not poop) ALL day long even though he’s taken for multiple walks and potty breaks. We believe it is a behavioral habit after spending long days in a kennel at the shelter (we’ve confirmed he’s not dehydrated), but we’d like to see him emptying his bladder more regularly. Encouragement will be key!

Jovi gets nervous when the TV or radio is on. He even barks at the TV sometimes! Something his foster is working on normalizing for him. Jovi is surprisingly great with loud noises (vacuum & lawn mower). He’s an odd, lil’ dude…that’s for sure!

It took a few days for him to warm up to living in a real home. He initially protested eating and was standoffish with his foster but he has warmed up so much! We expect he’ll start fresh in the warming up department with his new family.
