Pearl ::Adopted::

Pearl was found earlier in the year on the street all alone. She arrived at the high-kill shelter in Asan, South Korea and was given 10 days for someone to claim her, but sadly nobody came. A family stepped up to foster her just hours before Pearl was euthanized. They adored Pearl but due to her “large” size she was kept outdoors on a chain vs. inside with the rest of their family. Once Pearl arrived in Portland we knew immediately that she was meant to be with her foster mom. It was the most perfect fit.

A few of our favorite Pearl things from her foster, now adoptive, mom…

Pearl is a perfect earth angel that has a ton of love to give! She loves affection and for her person to stay close. She loves being outside, going on lots of walks, chasing squirrels, and chewing on sticks. Pearl is fully potty trained and has had no accidents in the house. She also sleeps through the night in her crate like a big girl! In her short time in Portland she already learned sit, paw, down, and show me your tummy. She is working on her place training too!

Pearl is great with people and shows extra affection to women. So far she is good with kids when they are calm with her (not a fan of kids running around), and is curious about making some dog friends. She’s a great travel buddy and is patient in the back seat with her seatbelt on!

She loves to keep an eye out the front door and even though she was a “guard dog” at her previous foster home she wouldn’t hurt a fly. Aside from her obvious gorgeousness we are obsessed with how she gives everyone a biiiiiig hug with both paws (pictured). Pearl is the sweetest and her favorite color is purple just like her mom!

A few things Pearl is working on…

Pearl is doing much better on leash but is strong and will pull or lie down when she is feeling stubborn. She struggles with unsupervised crate time during the day but we know she get used to it over time! Pearl loves to burrow outside and hide snacks, sticks, and pinecones. Because of this she always has a scab on her nose that doesn’t heal.

Since Pearl has spent most of her life outdoors this whole “indoor companion” concept is new to her. After napping on the couch she will walk right on the coffee table and parkour around the house! It’s endearing and so silly. We are so excited to see her settle in!
