prep information

I am so excited to meet you and your little one(s)! Below is my prep information.

Please bring the following:
- your critter(s)
- a cup or two of small treats. I refrain from providing treats to avoid causing any upset stomachs. (please do not bring excessively messy and/or large treats into the studio!)
- favorite toys or activities (noisy is good!)
- a small towel to wipe critter feet

Prior to your session please have your critter exercised and pottied. Also, bring them hungry! I want them to work for their treats to keep their attention.

I'm happy to help with any specific questions leading up to your session so feel free to send me an email or text.

Health and Safety Practices:
If anyone in your household is sick or has shown symptoms in the prior two weeks, you must reschedule.

If the door is closed when you arrive, please wait until I greet you outside. Thereโ€™s likely an off-leash pup on the other side of the studio door. ๏ปฟPlease be prepared to help with holding treats/toys to guide them for posing. There might be times where youโ€™ll need to hold your critter or sit close to them if they are nervous.

Photography Studio Address:
Eastbank Commerce Center (white building facing west)
1001 SE Water Ave, Portland, OR 97214

Parking & directions:
Please text or call when you park and I'll pop down to the entrance (it will be locked). There are two parking lots, one at the main entrance tucked on the west side of the building (check there first!) and if it's full I'd go to the Reef lot south of the building.
Once youโ€™ve parked, please potty walk your dog(s) and text Mel at 541-908-2198.

Outdoor

We should already have a tentative date/time/location for your critter's outdoor session, but sometimes if there's a drastic change in weather rescheduling might be necessary. We can stay in touch by phone or email leading up to the date. Please keep your critter leashed or in their carrier until we get to the photo location. Their safety is my #1 priority!

Please be prepared to help with holding treats/toys to guide them for posing. Depending on the temperament of your critter, we may take a few minutes to let them sniff, wander, and get to know me before I start photographing.

We should already have a tentative date/time/location for your critter's lifestyle session. This may be taking place in your home, at a local city park your critter plays at regularly, or out for a simple walk. For in home sessions please tidy up and vacuum in the areas we may be photographing in so your critter is the main focus. Lift all window blinds/curtains and plan to have me near windows for photos.

Please be prepared to help with holding treats/toys to guide them for posing. Depending on the temperament of your critter we may take a few minutes for them to get to know me before I start photographing.
