Tommy

::adopTED::

Little Tommy and his two siblings were found on the streets of Asan, South Korea back in February of this year. They were brought to the city pound where they waited for someone to offer them a home. Eventually they were all separated as they each found a foster home. Luckily, a loving family stepped up to care for Tommy over the next several months prior to his flight to Wildhearts. We are so thrilled to have this sweet boy here and can’t wait to find him his perfect family!

A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE Tommy THINGS FROM his FOSTER family…

Tommy has been a dream to foster! From the moment I met him we clicked and he knew he was safe and loved. Tommy made himself at home right away. He learned where the toy box was and would grab himself toys as he pleased until the whole box was empty and toys were hidden throughout the house. He loves to chew and cuddle his stuffies and he LOVES to chew on dogwood chew bones. Tommy is very playful and took a few days of adjusting before he showed us just how playful he really is. Once he was comfortable, Tommy could play for hours with his dog and cat foster siblings.

Tommy is amazing on walks! He doesn't pull and he checks in often. He doesn't seem to have any escape artist tendencies but hasn’t had any opportunities to test the boundaries. He is very food motivated and will do great with food based training.

He is amazing in public places and loves attention. I've taken him to sit outside on noisy streets and he doesn't mind at all. He is great in the crate and knows crates are safe and good for him. He walks right in and goes straight to his bed.

Overall Tommy is a very happy and well adjusted kid!

A FEW THINGS Tommy IS WORKING ON FROM his FOSTER family…

Tommy is not wild about kids. He doesn't bark or nip but he generally keeps his distance even from the children who he lives with. The same goes for male-presenting folks. With time and patience I think he can overcome these.

He does great going potty outside and knows that the yard means potty time but he has had a few accidents. Dogs seem to like my jute rug because it feels like grass so they have all happened to go in that one spot. However, there have been no poops inside!

THE IDEAL FAMILY FOR Tommy WOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • A fenced yard

  • A home with a small, already trained dog or a playful cat

  • A flexible work schedule (either working from home or the ability to take Tommy to work). Tommy is an amazing office dog!

  • Lots of patience, time to train, consistency, and lots of love!
