TORI ::adopted::

Unlike a lot of pups from the streets & dog meat markets in Korea, Tori has experienced a great deal of love and care from just a few months of age. After her rescue out of a rat trap she was placed with a lovely foster family in Korea. Now she’s in Portland awaiting her forever home!

Tori adores affection and snuggling. She will do best in a household where she has a companion throughout the day. With Tori being a puppy she will need your guidance and patience. She’s a complete love-bug and we know she will excel in the right home!

A few of our favorite Tori things…

Also known as the “Eye-Booger Princess”, Tori is playful, sweet, snuggly, and a quick learner! Her foster family loves her fancy opera gloves and floppy ear. Speaking of ears…she loves ‘em; loves to lick them anyway. She’d be thrilled to be your personal Q-tip. Sometimes when she’s napping she’ll have her eyes slightly open, just to make sure you stay close. It’s…..endearing. Tori is wonderful with touch and being handled by people. Her foster family enjoys carting her around the house in one arm while cooking dinner, dusting, dancing, you name it. At night she settles into her crate after a bit of whining and then doesn’t make a peep until morning. In Korea she had a 4 year old human as her foster brother and they were best pals. Currently in Portland she’s doing great with her foster family of two adults, three dogs, and two cats. When it comes to training she catches on quickly. Commands like yes, nope, good, sit, down, along with waiting for food and pausing before going through doors all comes fairly easy to her. We love to see her brain working and watching things click!

A few things Tori is working on…

Like all puppies, Tori still has a ways to go with her training & behavior. Initially she was pee-pad trained and now that she’s in Portland we are working on pottying in the yard and on leash. Going potty in a fenced yard comes easily to Tori but on-leash is a struggle for her. She takes her sweet time finding the perfect spot to relieve herself so be sure to have Instagram ready to scroll while she searches. Sometimes she’s sneaky and likes to nom on her own poo, so it is best to keep a close eye and pick up poop right away. Tori has a bit of separation anxiety and will need a lot of structure to work through it and build up her confidence. We have some tips and methods to assist her future people with this. Tori is getting used to walking nicely on leash. Ideally we like to see our dogs walking calmly at your side with no pulling. Even though Tori is very loving she, like many of our rescues, gets very scared in new situations and is a flight risk when unsure. Be ready for some work to get Tori where she needs to be!
